because she was the "ghost of terror" in the legend

In the bright moonlight, when Master saw a big piece of wood beside him, he took out the chisel tool he had with him, looked at the woman and began to carve a portrait one by one.

"Master, what are you carving?"

"I'm carving a statue of Bodhisattva!" The Master said happily, "I think you look very kind and like a Bodhisattva, so I carve a Bodhisattva according to your appearance!"

When the woman sitting beside her heard this, she burst into tears, because she was the "ghost of terror" in the legend.

Years ago, when she crossed the mountain with her daughter alone, she met a group of robbers who were unable to resist. Besides being raped, her daughter was killed. Sad, she jumped down the cliff, and later turned into a "fierce ghost" to take the lives of passers-by at night.

However, this "hateful" woman, but never expected that someone would say that she "looks very kind, very like a Bodhisattva"! Suddenly, the woman turned into a ray of light and disappeared in the valley on the moonlit night.

Zhangjiao, a native of Jizhou Giant Deer in the Eastern Han Dynasty (Pingxiang, Hebei Province today). At that time, the society generally believed in Huanglao Taoism, which is the embryonic form of Taoism. It is a pure folk belief evolved from Huang Lao's thought after a long period of development, and there is no systematic doctrine. Later, the book Taiping Jing was compiled and processed by the famous Taoist priest Yu Ji, which laid a foundation for the emergence of Taoism.

The theoretical source of Taiping Tao is the Taiping Sutra. Zhang Jiaozu practised medicine in the past dynasties, so Zhang Jiaozu preached Taoism to the people by virtue of his medical practice. During the reign of Emperor Xiping and Guanghe of the Han Dynasty, many Taoist schools were founded all over the country. Zhang Jiao saw the time was ripe, so he formally established the Taiping Road. The name of Taiping Road comes directly from the Taiping Sutra, which means "to follow the path of peace". After the founding of Taiping Road, Zhang Jiao began preaching among the congregation to cure people with water and spells. He also received a wide range of disciples and sent them around to propagate good deeds and evade evil. After more than 10 years of unremitting efforts, the Taiping Taoist religion has developed to more than 100,000 people.
